listening to music in the Attic, is reflected, but it reads well, reads "new" to come. For some 'time I'm opening it to writers ever dealt with, without neglecting the old who are with me for years. I do not know why I had so far neglected his books, since the TV drama about Montalbano is not bad (although I do not Bazzichi TV for years ...) and Luca Zingaretti is a great actor. But I thought that the "yellow" are not my thing. Well, I recently I had to change his mind, not so much on "yellow", but certainly on Camilleri. His books, beyond the narrative of the plot (predictable at times) are tasty for the characterization of the characters, language, colorful Sicilian, but even more for the sinking of political and social satire that Camilleri puts in the text, often through reasoning and reflection of Montalbano. There is no book of his (and I've read three in quick succession, one a day: The moon paper , The patience of the spider , The blaze in August) in which there are sacrosanct reflections Social Situation in particular on Italy and Sicily in general, not too veiled reference to "building speculators fell in politics" (as he calls several times Montalbano) which are always delicious. In short, a sparkling reading, pleasant and stimulating literary thoughts and real implications. If, like me, you've snubbed, splurge on Camilleri and enjoy his books.
A second "new" reading must, like other times in the past, the gift of a C (hi) ara friend (you know who you are!) Who gave me a funny novel by Nick Hornby , author too ' it out of my past acquaintances, "High Fidelity" (High Fidelity) from which this fine English director Stephen Frears is ( Dangerous Liaisons, The Queen, Dirty Pretty Things, ...) has drawn an amazing film in 2000 (who had seen) with a sparkling John Cusack (nominated for Golden Globe this role), an actor who sees all too little to the movies recently, accompanied by his amiable sister Joan Cusack (an expert in secondary roles but always memorable, think of the girlfriend of Kevin Kline in In and Out dumped at the altar) , dall'istrionico Jack Black, the beautiful Catherine Zeta-Jones and a guest star Tim Robbins as . In short, if the book, as often happens, it is better than the film, you can imagine the laughter ...
But the title of today says Read and listen, so what you hear in the attic these days, while books and movies coming out of the box and migrate to the shelves? Well, a bit 'all the relaxing and original music Clannad, the Irish group, Celtic rock with a beautiful voice Maire Brennan (the older sister, age and ability, to Enya ) in their "Cran Ull" (1980) and "Magical Ring" (1983). Then the soft, warm voice in Sade "Stronger Than Pride" (1988) and the ageless class Annie Lennox in "Medusa" (1995). Without neglecting the Italians are in my heart forever: Claudio Baglioni with "the way" (1980, especially appropriate for me at this stage ... I want to leave ...), Anna Oxa with "My race" (1984, will come back, gentle wind, the heavenly tide, spread the colors of the orchid over the city ...), Matia Bazar of "Melancholia" (1985, I feel you The music just moves ...) and Alice with his "Exit" (1998, with a raid unexpectedly Morgan it "Image" ).
